Modernization belongs to the one of the most important direction of implementation of structural transformations in a national economic design. Permission of this perspective causes need of consideration both theoretic-methodological approaches, and solutions of practical tasks on implementation of policy of modernization in the Russian Federation.The most important problems of modernization of industrial production in modern conditions, according to authors of article, are, first of all, preservation of scientific and technical, personnel and industrial capacities of the enterprises, ensuring their sustainable development in relation to rigid requirements of being globalized world economy, and also timely updating or a reshaping of capacities in interests of increase of competitiveness and economicс safety of the country, taking into account the solution of problems of social development of society.
