The level of competition affects many aspects of enterprise activity: trade policy; distribution of products and services; the methods and the amount of price promotions; how to achieve competitive advantage; the level of business profitability and much more. When studying the level of competition considering the factors affecting the competitiveness of the company in its business freedom; analyze the competitive structure of the market; examine strengths and weaknesses of the participants in the distribution channel products through the analysis of their share in the final price of the product, assess the competitiveness of the regional market. The research was conducted on the example of the food market of the Republic of Mari El.
