THE INVESTMENT FOCUS OF TRANSNATIONAL CORPORATIONS: PROFIT AND TECHNOLOGY

Dynamics and development of regional and global economy is determined by the intensity of international investment process. It is established that the position of TNK placement of capital abroad is carried out both in economic interests (profit), and technological (technology development), with the latter becoming increasingly important. The author highlighted, with the positions of these two interests, the following investment strategy: a strategy based only on greenfield branches; strategy, based on the acquired subsidiaries (the strategy of mergers and acquisitions); the combined strategy based on the combination of the first two strategies. It is established that unreasonable to put the preference of the use of certain types of investment strategies for specific countries. Combined strategies are more likely to have access TNCs to new technologies of the countries in which they plan expansion.
