Diagnosis of the level of export potential of the company is the first and necessary step in the planning of the development of the external market. Decision to withdraw the goods to foreign markets involves an assessment of the enterprise and its production to meet the requirements of international markets. Machine-building enterprises of Krasnoyarsk region differ significantly in terms of export potential. The article highlighted a number of factors that influence the development of export advantages of machine builders edge. The study identified the need to develop a methodology for the assessment of the export potential of the machine-building enterprises of the region. This methodology should take into account the peculiarities of engineering in the region from raw materials exports.
