Small and medium enterprises is an integral and very important part of the economic system of managing the Nizhny Novgorod region. Nizhny Novgorod region - is one of the key players in the country in terms of enterprise development, and Nizhny Novgorod in 2013 ranked 9th in the annual ranking of cities most attractive for business and life. Significant contribution of small and medium enterprises in the socio-economic development of the Nizhny Novgorod region has greatly contributed to the implementation of the previous complex target enterprise development programs have become an effective instrument of public-public policy of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod region in relation to small and medium businesses. The article presents the development of targeted programs for small and medium enterprises in the Nizhny Novgorod region and analyzed indicators of entrepreneurship development for the period to 2012.
