INTEGRATION OF TRANSPORTATION SPATIOS OF RUSSIA AND ASIA PACIFIC BASING ON PRIMORSKY REGION

This article is prepared one year after the 2012 APEC Summit that was held in Russia in September of 2012. The development of the rigid Trans-Asian logistical routes was named as one of the advanced ways of Russia’ embedding to the highly prospective and fast growing mutual economic spatio of Asian Pacific Region. The opportunities and challenges of the integration of Russian transportation system and particularly the transportation system of Far East Macroregion to the Asian Pacific Region for the building of transborder supply chains are considered. The short analysis of the distinctive features of the Russian regional economic spatios and their reflection to the regional transportation systems are presented including the influence of the transportation system on the coherence of the sole economic spatio of Russia. Analysis of current situation and trends in the transport market of Primorsky Region is given. General problems of the regional transport market are described with the suggested possible directions for their solution. Prospective ways of cooperation between Russia and Asian Pacific States in transportation area are proposed.
